At Wood Creek Designs, we specialize in creating lasting works of art and functional art. Our pieces are made from a variety of recycled and reused domestic and exotic hardwoods and softwoods.

To us, trees are a most precious gift. We love trees. We love them so much we moved from California to Kentucky and built a house in the forest. Our life among the giants inspires us to create unique works of art that celebrate and honor trees for all the wonderful gifts they provide humanity.

We showcase the incredible beauty found inside some of our world’s trees by bringing together a variety of woods in each piece we make. Through the art of collage and the abstract, the colors and grain patterns in our work flow together in harmony like trees in the forest.

To our delight, our art fascinates people of all ages. We hear wonderful comments like it’s mesmerizing, inspiring, gorgeous, incredible, beautiful, creative, glorious, and “like nothing I’ve ever seen before.” Our art has a surprise factor that pulls you in, slows you down and moves you into the present.

Art should evoke a response.

We believe art should evoke a response. It should stop time, even if just for a moment. It should beg you to stay a little longer and look a little closer and see what might otherwise be missed.

When a work of art stops you, the artist has evoked that response and created a shared connection. At Wood Creek Designs, we strive to create those connections. Our art is tactile because we want you to personally experience the incredible beauty found in nature and to celebrate the connection between humanity and our world’s trees.

The art on our collages, boxes and furniture is made from wood and wood products collected over many years. To us, the remnants - the cut-offs, broken turnings, the small bits and pieces remaining from past projects, and other miscellaneous leftovers - are too beautiful to discard. So, instead of tossing them out, we found them a new life. And like the trees from which they come, our art and functional art is unique and naturally beautiful.
